Manado is the capital of the Indonesian province of North Sulawesi. It is the second-largest city in Sulawesi after Makassar. This provincial capital is the former fort of the Dutch (called Menado during the Dutch colonial times) and the cultural center of Minahasa, had long been prosperous through trade with the nearby Philippines and the spice trade with the rest of the world.

Bunaken National Park is a marine park in the north of Sulawesi island, Indonesia. The park is located near the center of the Coral Triangle, providing habitat to 390 species of coral as well as many fish, mollusk, reptile, and marine mammal species. The Park is representative of Indonesian tropical water ecosystems, consisting of seagrass plain, coral reef, and coastal ecosystems. It was established as a national park in 1991 and is among the first of Indonesia’s growing system of marine parks.

Bunaken is an island of 8 km², part of the Bunaken National Marine Park. Bunaken is located at the northern tip of the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia. It belongs administratively to the municipality of Manado. Scuba diving attracts many visitors to the island. Bunaken National Park extends over an area of 890.65 km² of which only 3% is terrestrial, including Bunaken Island, as well as the islands of Manado Tua, Mantehage, Nain and Siladen. The waters of Bunaken National Marine Park are up to 1,566 m deep in Manado Bay, with temperatures ranging between 27 and 29 °C. It has a high diversity of – corals, fish, echinoderms or sponges.

Jesus Blesses or Christ Blessing is a statue of Jesus Christ in Manado, Indonesia. The structure stands 50 meters tall and consists of 20 meters of a pedestal and 30 meters of a statue. It is made of 25 tonnes of metal fiber and 35 tonnes of steel and is located at the peak of the CitraLand residential estate. As of 2010, it is Asia’s 2nd tallest and the world’s 4th tallest statue of Christ.

Ban Hin Kiong is a Taoist temple at Jalan D.I. Panjaitan, Manado. It is the oldest temple in the city of Manado. This temple was established in 1819, then in 1893 there was built house ash or known as Tek Kong Su in Hokkien. In the beginning, the building was made of bamboo wood. Ban means a lot, hin means a blessing/kindness, and kiong means palace.
