1. Boondooma Dam

Boondooma Dam is a dam on the Boyne River on the boundary of Boondooma and Proston in the South Burnett Region of Queensland, Australia. In 1983, the dam was constructed across the Boyne River below its confluence with the Stuart River. It has a capacity of 204 200 ML under the 10 square kilometers of surface area and has an average depth of 11 meters. The dam forms a narrow and deep lake, designed to avoid evaporation, with one fork containing lots of standing timber and another having many submerged rocky outcrops.

Coomba Falls is a waterfall located 2 km east of the small town of Maidenwell in the South Burnett Region of Queensland, Australia. There is a deep cold pool at the base of the falls surrounded by granite cliffs. It is a popular tourist spot for picnicking, swimming, birdwatching and photography.


3. Kingaroy Heritage Museum

Kingaroy’s fascinating Heritage Museum is housed in what was the town’s powerhouse from 1925 to 1952 – and is now part of the Kingaroy Information, Art and Heritage Precinct. The history of the local peanut industry is the main focus of the collection, with exhibits of agricultural machinery showing the ingenuity and inventiveness of the local farmers and tradespeople. Machinery for farming peanuts was not available in the early 1920s, so farmers invented their own. The first being a bicycle powered thresher built-in 1909, then an American-made wheat thresher was converted by a local farmer to thresh peanuts. In the late 1920s, Mr. Harry Young designed and built his very own dinosaur – a stationary peanut thresher.


4. Gordonbrook Dam

Gordonbrook Dam is a dam in Gordonbook, South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. It is the main source of water supply for Kingaroy in the Wide Bay-Burnett area. It was built in 1941 to provide water for the Royal Australian Air Force Training Base during World War II. In 1987, due to increased demand, the dam wall was raised, and the inundated area is now 229 hectares.

Mcgrory Falls is a waterfall on Saddle-tree Creek, a tributary of the Burnet River, in Queensland, Australia. The waterfall is located within the Bunya Mountains National Park, in the South Burnett Region, near the village of Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains. Like other smaller waterfalls in the area, Mcgrory Falls is surrounded by dense bush and pine forest.
