San Vito Lo Capo is a small seaside town in northwestern Sicily, Italy. It is known for its beach, which lies in a protected bay overlooking Mount Monaco. Downtown, the 15th-century Santuario di San Vito is a fort with Arabic-Norman architecture. Arab-Norman influences can also be seen in the tiny Santa Crescenzia chapel, on the main street outside the city and at the Torrazzo Circular Observatory.
1. Spiaggia San Vito lo Capo
Imagine being on the Sicilian coast, arriving in one of those placid villages, perpetually lying in the sun to contemplate a marine spectacle like the one that stretches out before you: the beaches painted in warm colors, the fresh and inviting blue of the transparent marine waters cut out here and thereby the rocks that pile up one on the other running vertically up to give rise to a majestic promontory. This is San Vito lo Capo.
2. Mount Monaco
Mount Monaco is situated at the northern tip of the headland of San Vito Lo Capo, the seaside town known for its crystal-clear waters and for its long white sandy beach. There are three loop waymarked routes (of great natural, historical and cultural interest).
3. Riserva naturale dello Zingaro
Riserva naturale dello zingaro was the first natural reserve set up in Sicily in May 1981, located almost completely in the municipal territory of San Vito Lo Capo. It stretches along some seven kilometers of unspoiled coastline of the Gulf of Castellammare and its mountain chain, the setting of steep cliffs and little bays. The Zingaro Reserve has a large variety and abundance of rare and endemic plants it also has a rich fauna.
4. San Vito Lo Capo Lighthouse
San Vito Lo Capo Lighthouse is an active lighthouse located in the municipality of San Vito Lo Capo on the western coast of Sicily at the end of the promontory, with the same name, between the Gulf of Macari and that of Castellammare.
